Thrasher Skater Of The Year Party
The Briefs, The Nerve Agents, and F-Minus
The Fillmore, December 8th, 2001

Thrasher Magazine held a Skater Of The Year party at The Fillmore in San Francisco and got 3 great bands to play. The night started off with Hellcat band F-minus. These guys were a great opener and rocked the house. I think I fell in love with the guitarist, Erika. The crowd was starting to warm up as the F-Minus set ended and The Nerve Agents took over. Once The Nerve Agents took the stage all hell proceeded to break loose and the guys in the band continued to add fuel to the fire with their hardcore sound and insane stage presence. Towards the end of their set the crowd started to rush the stage. The security guys were complete dicks and a brawl got started that lasted a good 20 minutes. There were about 25 kids on stage exchanging punches with the entire Fillmore staff... fun stuff indeed. After the riot settled down Thrasher had its Skater Of The Year announcement which lasted about 30 mins. Finnally after all the The Briefs took the stage. If you haven't heard The Briefs by now you are seriously missing out and need to get your ass in gear. These new wave punkers from Seattle delivered an awesome set, playing some stuff of their album and some new stuff as well. Its a damn shame that the crowd was too beaten and drunken to fully enjoy the set but fun was still had by all. At then end of their set they had no less than 10 people dancing around on stage and signing along. After the show the cops came, people got in fights, arrests were made. Good shit.
