Localzine: Who is everyone, how old are they, and what do they play?
Shaun: I am 23, I play bass and occasionally use mythroat to produce sounds
Sean: I am 26, I play guitar and “sing” a little.

Localzine: Do you like playing live shows?
Shaun: I love it.
Sean: Oh sure! That’s kind of half the point, isn’t it?

Localzine: What do you think of the music scene these days especially here in the East Bay?
Shaun: I see at lot of great bands coming out of here.Pitch Black, From Monuments To Masses, The Pattern just to name a few.
Sean: Yeah, and it’s not limited to the punk/rock scene either. For instance, there is a ton of great electronic music as well. I was recently turned on to Tipsy from San Francisco. They blow me away. Good hip hop too!

Localzine: If you could change one thing about the music scene what would it be?
Shaun: More all ages venues.
Sean: I wish it were easier to get people interested in diverse shows, as opposed to the idea that audiences and bands can only extend to the limitations of one or two genres.

Localzine: Who are your favorite bands?
Shaun: Mohinder, Sonic Youth, Motley Crue, Reversal Of Man, Shellac.
Sean: I have so many these days. Sonic Youth, Shellac, Blonde Redhead were the main ones for a long time. Then I was listening to a lot of country for a while, but I think I am in the middle of a shift at the moment. My favorite new record is the new release by Mum: Finally We Are No-One.

Localzine: Whets playin in yo cd playa right now?
Shaun: Milemarker "Anesthetic"
Sean: Six Finger Satellite “the Pigeon is the Most Popular Bird”

Localzine: Name 5 necessities you MUST bring on tour?
Shaun: Bag of cheap new socks, Vitamins, Flashlight, Travel tooth brush (don't bother bringing tooth paste. they'll have some at the houses you stay at.), and a copy of Guns N' Roses "Appetite For Destruction"
Sean: Besides my guitar, etc? Socks, underwear, toothbrush, blanket/sleeping bag, and, ummmm… a can opener?

Localzine: What can we expect from the next album?
Shaun: Black metal
Sean: Yes. We have very dark souls.

Localzine: Do you like touring?
Shaun: Yes.
Sean: Touring is great, but it’s kind of a love/ hate relationship for me at this point. It’s a lot of work, but really fun. We are touring with The Ghost from Chicago all of October.

Localzine: Where is your favorite place to play a show?
Shaun: Vancouver. The people there are cute and they talk funny.
Sean: Vancouver for sure!

Localzine: What can you guys be found doing after a show?
Shaun: Arguing over who is sober enough to drive.
Sean: We work hard, we play hard.

Localzine: Any bands you want to mention that you don`t think get enough reconigition?
Shaun: The Red Light Sting from Vancouver
Sean: They are amazing! I hear their new record at Shaun’s house after our record release party, and it totally blew me away!

Localzine: Worst show you’ve ever played?
Shaun: In the lobby of a Hotel in Flagstaff, AZ
Sean: That was bad. The cowboy sports bar in Austin was bad too.

Localzine: What was the last cd you bought?
Shaun: "Back to Basics" by Billy Brag
Sean: I haven’t bought a CD in a long time, but the last record I bought was that Mum record, which probably explains why I like it so much right now.

Localzine: Favorite movie?
Shaun: "The Dark Crystal"
Sean: I don’t really have one, well actually I have oo many. The last movie I saw was The Bicycle Thief. It was great.

Localzine:Favorite food?
Shaun: Vodka
Sean: Sushi.

Localzine: Boxers or briefs?
Shaun: Neither. It's all about the comando style, baby.
Sean: I am kind of screwed with this question, because I recently discovered boxer-briefs. They are totally the way to go.

Localzine: Any advice to aspiring musicians?
Shaun: Tomorrow will be much worse. Give up. Now.
Sean: This is kind of silly, because I consider myself to be an aspiring musician, but at the risk of misquoting, I saw Bon Jovi, Behind the Music recently. He said something to the effect of: Never try to be anyone else but yourself, because you will always end up coming in second. Ifonly I could be more like Bon Jovi.

Localzine: How did you all become a band? (i.e.: meet, come together to play music)
Shaun and Sean: I joined after the Sleep of Reason EP came out. I had been friends with these guys for a while, and I really admired what they were doing at the time. That was just such a cool record. We are so different now, but I think change is good. Plus, Steve and I were living in this big punk house at the time, so we played together informally before I was jumped in to the band. Shaun, Steve and Mike have been playing together since they were kids, so they already had a good rapport going.

Localzine: If you had 3 wishes..... what would they be?
Shaun and Sean: I wish you could get good coffee and fresh fruit on tour. Three times.

Localzine: Most important question of all: who is the pimpest muthafucka of all time?
Shaun: Sammy
Sean: Visit the cost at www.thecost.org to find out about our tour, etc.
